Admissions under RTE Act

Section 12(1)(c) — 25% Reserved Seats (Academic Year 2025–26)

As per the Government of Punjab, Department of School Education (Order dated 14th August 2025), 25% of the seats in entry-level classes of all private unaided schools (except minority institutions) are reserved for children belonging to Weaker Sections and Disadvantaged Groups under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. Admissions will be made through the official online application system and seats will be allotted via online draw of lots.

Eligibility for Admission

Children from the following categories are eligible:

  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): Annual family income below ₹8.0 lakh (subject to change as per government norms).
  • Scheduled Castes (SC): No income limit.
  • Backward Class / Other Backward Class (BC/OBC – non-creamy layer).
  • War Widows’ Children.
  • Destitute Parents’ Children: with at least 50% disability.

Seat Distribution (within the 25% quota)

  • EWS – 12.5%
  • SC – 5%
  • BC/OBC – 5%
  • War Widows’ Children – 1.25%
  • Destitute Parents’ Children (≥50% disability) – 1.25%

Neighborhood Criteria (Priority for Admissions)

  1. Children residing within 1 km of the school – first priority.
  2. Children residing within 3 km – second priority.
  3. Children residing within 6 km – considered if vacancies remain.

Age Criteria (as on 31st March 2025)

  • Nursery – 3 years
  • LKG – 4 years
  • UKG – 5 years
  • Class I – 6 years

Documents Required (Scanned Copies)

  • Age Proof (any one): Birth Certificate / Hospital or ANM record / Anganwadi record / Self-declaration affidavit by parent.
  • Residence Proof (any one): Electricity/Water/Gas/Telephone bill, Driving License, Rent Agreement, Passport, Ration Card, Bank Passbook, etc.
  • Category Certificates (if applicable):
    • SC/OBC certificate (issued by competent authority).
    • War Widow/Ex-Serviceman documents (ID card, pension order, service records, etc.).
    • Disability certificate from Civil Surgeon or UDID card.
    • EWS: NFSA beneficiary proof / Income certificate issued by Revenue Department.
  • Parent’s ID proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID) and Child’s recent photograph.

Important Instructions

  • Applications must be submitted online only through the official portal: [Insert Portal Link].
  • One application per child — duplicate or incorrect applications may be rejected.
  • No capitation fee or screening is allowed by the school at the time of admission.
  • Selection will be through an online lottery system, and results will be displayed on the portal.
  • Parents of selected students will be informed through the portal / email / phone and will need to submit original documents at the school.
