Students of Global Wisdom International School, Dera Bassi took part in vibrant and meaningful activities promoting environment awareness and sustainability throughout the day.
The day kicked off with a Special Morning Assembly introducing the theme of Earth Day 2025 “Our Power Our Planet” focusing on the global call to action for clean energy and climate protection. Later in the day tiny tots also celebrated the day in green attire showcasing their talent through musical skit and recitation of poems.
Morning assemble was followed by spirited Earth Day rally, where students marched around the school campus and neighbourhood areas holding handmade posters, chanting slogans, and spreading awareness about pressing environmental issues like climate change, pollution, and deforestation.
Hon’ble Mr. Amit Gupta SDM Derabassi, Chairman of the School S. Gurdip Singh Chahal, Member of Management Mr. Barkha Ram, President of Bharat Vikas Parishad Mr. Upesh Bansal and Principal of the School Dr. Basundhara along with other dignitaries flagged off the rally. A sapling was planted in the school courtyard by the chief guest Mr. Amit Gupta.
Enthusiasm and dedication of the Globalites reflected in the environment.
Under the guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Amit Gupta SDM Dera Bassi a pledge was taken by students and staff of Global Wisdom International School to Campaign for “Yudh Nashian De Virudh” initiated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, to create drug-free Punjab .
Members of the environment society of India visited and facilitated the Chairman Mr. Gurdip Singh Chahal and the Principal of the School Dr. Basundhara and congratulate them on their efforts in taking care of environment.
Mr. N.K Jhingon, Mr. Hem Shitija & Mr. Ravinder Singh from the ESI engaged students in thought-provoking discussions and hands-on demonstrations that deepened their understanding of how individual actions can lead to collective change.
